April's Updates at the Cat Program
Your monthly scoop on Cal Poly’s feline friends

April’s Updates
We have had a very exciting month here at the Cat Program! As we settle into the new shelter, we have been able to take in many more cats and have continued to make the shelter a welcoming space for all cats, volunteers, and general visitors.
HumanKind 2% Nonprofit recipient
We are so excited to announce that the Cal Poly Cat Program is the first recipient to win HumanKind’s 2% Tuesday nonprofit opportunity! For the month of May, HumanKind will donate 2% of all sales made to our program. Make sure to visit HumanKind and support both HumanKind and the Cat Program.
Want to meet some of our cats? Join us at the HumanKind Adoption Event on Saturday, May 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 974 Monterey St. Stop by to learn more about the Cal Poly Cat Program and spend some time with our adoptable cats!
Kitten Season
Kitten season has also begun! We currently have a couple of kitten litters that will be adoptable in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned for more updates!

Farm City Nights Event
On April 24, we had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Sigma Alpha, the professional agricultural sorority, at Farm City Nights. We loved introducing our cats and sharing more about the Cal Poly Cat Program with the community!

Staff Spotlights
Meet Miranda Seidl!
As a third-year Animal Science major, she has been on the Cal Poly Cat Program staff since her second year as a Foster coordinator.
“I love that we’re able to make a genuine impact in the community. California’s stray population has become exceedingly high, and we work really hard to combat this by setting our cats up for success in their new homes.”

Meet Sydney Wong!
As a first-year Animal Science major, they have been part of the Cal Poly Cat Program since the Fall Quarter of 2024 as a Kitten Coordinator.
“I love CPCP because it allows me to be part of a mainly student-run organization that is open, welcoming, and supportive of a common interest and a love for our feline friends.”
