May Events Recap

HumanKind Adoption Event

This month, we had an exciting partnership with HumanKind, being their first 2% Tuesday nonprofit opportunity. We additionally had an adoption event May 3 at HumanKind, where people were able to meet some cats and support both HumanKind and the Cat Program. Thank you to everyone who came out, adopted, or supported the cause. Your kindness helps us continue our mission and make a difference for animals in need!

Dexter Lawn Bake Sale Fundraiser

Our bake sale on Dexter Lawn was an exciting time to talk with students and have an opportunity to socialize with our cats. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported!

Kitten Shower Event at the Caffeinated Cat Cafe

Our Kitten Shower Event at The Caffeinated Cat Cafe in Grover Beach was a fun and cozy way to celebrate kitten season. With playful kittens and a warm atmosphere, the event was a sweet success.

Final May adoption count: 17 adoptions

Senior Staff Spotlight

Meet Alley Brown, a third-year Liberal Studies major who is graduating this quarter. Alley is currently the Fundraising Coordinator and Treasurer, and she has been working with the Cat Program for about two years. We are wishing Alley the best of luck in all her post-grad adventures!

[My favorite part about working at the Cat Program is] seeing the amount of cats that come into our program in desperate need of love and care, and then getting to witness how our impact changes their lives and personalities, giving them a second chance.

Meet Liv Cheung, a fourth-year Psychology major. Liv is currently a Volunteer Coordinator and has been involved with the Cat Program for the past year. We can’t wait to see what Liv accomplishes post-grad!

I love having the opportunity to work with the cats so frequently! Being able to have a direct impact on our kitties has been a blessing!
